The work of Joeseph Gifford has had a profound influence on so many artists: conductors, instrumentalists, singers and other performers. I have been fortunate to have been one of these -- to have had the privilege of working with Mr. Gifford, as not only a conductor, but also a violist. The results have been immediate and remarkable. Not only is he perceptive regarding the connection between mind and body, but also he is a brilliantly gifted teacher in helping us to find our musical authenticity. He has helped to lead us back to the essential meaning of what our work is all about. It is about the music and allowing the music to come through us.
